Paramedic Squad 105
Los Angelego County Fire Department has taken delivery of Paramedic Squad 105, a highly versatile rig! Mounted on a 2019 RAM 4x4 chassis, Squad 105 is staffed daily by 2 FF/paramedics, who are trained in multiple disciplines including fire, EMS, hazmat, technical rescue, and wild land firefighting. In addition, Squad 105 has a 185-cfm air compressor for the CAFS system and air powered tools. The 300 gal water tank and CAFS allows the squad to initiate extinguishment of small fires, car fires, or even mop up brush fires in areas where larger rigs cannot go. The rig is also stocked with paramedic equipment and is certified as an ALS non-transport capable rig. Its vast compartment space allows for storage for a Holmatro combi tool, a small cache of cribbing equipment, absorbent for spills, and wild land firefighting tools. Also unique to Squad 105 is the 4800 lb. crane for technical rescues, which is useful for rope rescues in hilly areas. A NightScan Scout scene light also illuminates incidents.
