Marine 1
Marine 1 is a 2013 64 ft. SAFE Boats International Jet-powered Boat with a top speed of 40 knots. Despite it's speed and high maneuverability, it can flow up to 8,000 gpm through its two monitors. The 500 gallons of foam can also be injected to aid with fire suppression. In addition, Marine 1 has the ability to supply 12,000 gpm when docked to support land-based companies in the event of a water main failure. For rescue operations, the boat is equipped with FLIR (forward looking infrared) cameras and sensors, sonar, and other detection equipment. The deckhouse has a medical bay and decontamination showers. The entire deckhouse is airlocked to protect the crew from hazardous fumes. Marine 1 was purchased in 2013 to replace a 56-year old boat that was larger than the current boat, but had a 6000 gpm pumping capacity and a top speed of 15 knots.
