Light Force
Light Force 1 shown
The light force is made up of two rigs: the truck and pump, and is staffed by six: Captain II, Apparatus Operator, Top member, Tiller Member, Inside Member, and an Engineer. When responding as a single resource, the truck company leads the way with the pump following respectively. This allows the truck company to setup close to the building should use of the aerial device be necessary. The pump stays by the hydrant to ensure the supply of water going to the engine.
On the fireground, the incident commander has the option to use the light force as he sees fit. Since tools for suppression and ventilation are present on both vehicles, the IC can devote 6 men for a single task.

Captain II
The Captain II (C2) is the commanding officer for the task force and is a higher rank than the C1. The C2 sits in the truck and assumes command of an incident until relieved by a battalion chief or higher officer.
Apparatus Operator
The Apparatus Operator (AO) drives the truck and specializes in the rig’s function such as forcible entry, extrication, roof operations and ventilation, and high angle rope rescue. On a structure fire, the AO will be in charge of ventilation and roof operations until another truck is assigned with that CII taking over the assignment. The AO's primary job is to make cuts in the roof. During a ladder pipe operation, the AO will stay down at the aerial platform and move it as needed.
Top Member
The Top Member sits behind the AO and serves as the AO’s assistant. This member’s role is to assist in setting up the aerial device or throw a ladder to access the roof. The Top Member also ensures a smooth roof operation by removing the pieces of the roof that the AO cut.
Tiller Member
The Tiller Member plays an important role in steering the truck and works closely with the AO in optimizing placement of the rig during a structure fire. This member shuts off the gas and utilities before placing a secondary/safety ladder for the roof operations team should it be needed. The Tiller Member then joins the roof operations with a hook and a 1” protection line.
Inside Member
The Inside Member is a special position and has a variety of roles on a scene. This member sits either in the truck or pump, depending on personal preference. The first role of this member is to pull the supply line from the pump and attach it to the hydrant. Then, the Inside Member will help force entry into the building if this has not been accomplished yet. Once complete, the Inside Member will open all doors and windows, removing bars and locks as necessary. This member then moves inside and assists with interior operations by pulling ceiling, laying salvage covers and assisting with search and rescue.
Engineer
The Engineer of the Pump works in the same fashion as the Engineer of the Engine, driving the rig to the scene, and ensuring the flow of water to the Engine
